Web UI for trustless XMR atomic swaps.
At a glance
Pros
- +Genuinely no-KYC, no account, email, or ID required to swap BTC or ETH into XMR.
- +Non-custodial settlement, atomic swap protocol ensures funds either swap or refund automatically with no intermediary control.
- +Low minimum entry, 0.001 BTC minimum allows small test transactions before larger swaps.
- +Web-based simplicity, browser interface removes command-line barrier for non-technical Monero users.
- +Automatic refunds, failed swaps refund to source address within approximately 10 minutes per site claims.
Cons
- −Opaque pricing, no explicit fee breakdown; swap rate embeds spread without transparent disclosure.
- −Limited asset support, only BTC→XMR and ETH→XMR pairs available, no Lightning, fiat, or altcoin options.
- −No Tor integration advertised, unlike competitors, network traffic privacy relies on user-initiated protections.
- −Anonymous team, no named operators or published security audits, complicating accountability assessment.

What is Atomic Monero
Atomic Monero is a web-based user interface for Monero (XMR) atomic swaps, maintained by a self-described global team of Monero enthusiasts. As of 2026-05-30, the service operates at atomicmonero.com and facilitates cross-chain swaps from Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) into Monero without requiring user accounts, registration, or identity verification. The project positions itself as infrastructure to improve Monero accessibility, complementing command-line tools with a browser-based experience.
The service does not custody funds. Swaps execute via the COMIT atomic swap protocol, which uses hash-time-locked contracts (HTLCs) to ensure either both sides of the trade complete or neither does-eliminating counterparty risk. The site claims "100% of Atomic Swaps Successfully Completed" and "No Risk of Frozen Funds."
How no-KYC is it?
Atomic Monero advertises itself as fully no-KYC. The homepage meta description and multiple headings state "No Account Needed. No KYC." No email, phone number, or government ID is requested to initiate a swap. Users provide only:
- A Bitcoin or Ethereum sending address (for refunds if needed)
- A Monero receiving address
- The swap amount within published limits
This represents a "Guaranteed no KYC" classification under the NoKYC Directory framework. The service collects no persistent user data beyond what is technically necessary for the swap itself. There is no account dashboard, no transaction history tied to identity, and no KYC/AML policy page suggesting future compliance changes.
However, users should note that Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions are inherently transparent on their respective blockchains. While the swap itself requires no identity, chain analysis of the source BTC/ETH could theoretically link funds to prior KYC exposure elsewhere.
Privacy & security
Privacy claims center on the atomic swap mechanism itself rather than network-level protections. The site lacks explicit mention of Tor integration, VPN recommendations, or .onion availability-unlike competitors such as UnstoppableSwap (now Eigenwallet), which routes all traffic through Tor by default.
The service emphasizes educational content around financial privacy, including pages on "Why Is Privacy Important?" and "What is Tainted Bitcoin?" These suggest ideological alignment with Monero's privacy-by-default ethos, though they do not constitute technical privacy guarantees for the web interface.
Security relies on the COMIT protocol's cryptographic guarantees rather than institutional trust. The site states refunds process within 10 minutes if swaps fail. No multi-sig, insurance fund, or bug bounty program is mentioned. The codebase is described as open source with CLI availability for advanced users, though specific repository links or audit reports are not prominently displayed.
Payments, fees & limits
Atomic Monero supports two swap pairs as of 2026-05-30:
- Bitcoin (BTC) → Monero (XMR)
- Ethereum (ETH) → Monero (XMR)
The BTC→XMR swap page displays dynamic limits:
- Minimum: 0.001 BTC
- Maximum: 0.500 BTC
- Rate: approximately 0.005644 XMR/BTC (fluctuates with market)
No explicit fee schedule is published on the swap interface. The rate presumably embeds a spread or liquidity-provider fee, though this is not broken out transparently. Users receive a quoted XMR amount before sending BTC/ETH, with the final settlement occurring automatically upon blockchain confirmation.
Payment methods are limited to on-chain cryptocurrency transfers. No fiat on-ramps, credit cards, bank transfers, or Lightning Network support is indicated. The service is strictly a crypto-to-crypto swap facilitator.
User experience & support
The interface is minimalist: amount entry, Monero address input, and swap initiation. A "Swap ID" is provided for status tracking, usable even if the user closes the browser. The site claims the process takes "just a few moments longer than the duration of the Bitcoin transfer"-typically meaning 10-60 minutes depending on BTC confirmation times.
Advanced users are directed to CLI tools and open-source alternatives, suggesting the web UI targets non-technical users seeking convenience over maximal control.
Support is available through a contact form requesting name, email, and message. No live chat, ticketing system, or community forum is linked. The "About Us" page mentions the team is "on hand to help," though response time commitments are absent.
Who it's for
Atomic Monero suits privacy-conscious users seeking to acquire Monero without KYC, account creation, or exchange custody-particularly those holding Bitcoin or Ethereum who want a simple web interface rather than command-line tools. The low minimum (0.001 BTC) accommodates small test transactions.
It is less suitable for:
- Users requiring fiat on-ramps
- Those seeking maximum network privacy (no Tor integration advertised)
- Large traders (0.500 BTC cap)
- Users wanting transparent fee breakdowns or advanced order types
Compared to UnstoppableSwap/Eigenwallet, Atomic Monero lacks Tor-by-default routing and desktop application packaging. Compared to centralized no-KYC instant exchangers, it eliminates custodial risk at the cost of slower settlement and limited asset support.
Trust considerations
The service has attracted mixed external attention. Scam-detection sites including ReclaimMyCoin label AtomicMonero.com as potentially fraudulent, citing lack of regulation and polished presentation common to scam brokers-though these appear to be template-driven assessments conflating the service with actual broker scams. No verified user loss reports specific to Atomic Monero's swap protocol were found in the evidence. One Reddit post on r/monerosupport asks "Was I scammed by Atomic Monero?" but the resolution is not captured in available excerpts.
The site's claim of "100% successful completion" should be interpreted as aspirational marketing rather than audited guarantee. The anonymity of the operating team and lack of published audits or insurance represent standard trade-offs in privacy-focused services, but merit user caution.
KYC & privacy
No account required at all.
Atomic Monero collects no identity data and requires no account, satisfying strict no-KYC requirements. However, the clearnet web interface lacks advertised Tor integration, meaning swap metadata (IP, timing, amounts) is visible to standard network observers unless users self-protect with VPNs. No logging policy is published, and the anonymous team structure prevents verification of data handling practices.

Verdict
Atomic Monero delivers on its core promise of no-KYC, non-custodial Bitcoin and Ethereum to Monero swaps through a streamlined web interface. It best serves users prioritizing simplicity and swap guarantee over advanced privacy features like Tor routing or transparent fee structures. Those seeking maximum anonymity assurances or fiat on-ramps should evaluate alternatives such as Eigenwallet (formerly UnstoppableSwap) or P2P markets.

swapped 0.01 btc to xmr in about 25 minutes. no kyc, no account, no bs. the swap id let me check status after i closed the tab. exactly what i wanted.
anon_trader
works as advertised but the rate seemed a bit worse than what i calculated. hard to tell what the actual fee is since they don't break it out. still, no custodial risk is worth it.
privacyfirst
convenient web ui but i wish they had tor like unstoppableswap did. using a vpn helps but it's not the same. also the team is completely anonymous which makes me nervous for larger amounts.
sat_stacker
tried a small test swap, worked fine. then saw the scam warning sites and got spooked. probably fine technically but the optics are bad. moved to eigenwallet for now.
