What is Chainflip Swap
Chainflip Swap is a cross-chain decentralized exchange operated by Crosschain Association. The protocol uses a network of up to 150 validators running a Substrate-based proof-of-stake blockchain to execute native-to-native asset swaps. Users deposit one asset and receive another directly on the destination chain without wrapping tokens or using traditional bridges. The interface advertises settlement times of 2-5 minutes and a "fire and forget" experience where no further action is required after the initial deposit.
As of 2026-05-30, the swap interface at swap.chainflip.io supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Polkadot (Assethub), and additional chains. The platform also offers a "Boost" yield feature on Bitcoin and an SDK suite for integrators. Third-party sources note $1.6 billion in all-time volume, though this figure appears replicated across multiple metrics on the official site and should be treated cautiously.
How no-KYC is it?
Chainflip Swap is not no-KYC. The service is explicitly operated by Crosschain Association, a legal entity with comprehensive Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The privacy policy details extensive personal data collection including processing for "legal and regulatory requirements" and sharing with "vendors and partners" plus compliance with "legal and regulatory enquiries." The policy references fully-automated decision-making that could significantly affect users.
The older kycnot.me metadata correctly classified this service as "Mandatory KYC." While some YouTube content and SEO pages on chainflip.io use "no KYC" as marketing language for the underlying protocol, the swap interface itself is a regulated service operated by a centralized association with standard financial compliance obligations. Users seeking anonymous or KYC-free swapping should look elsewhere.
Privacy & security
The Privacy Policy effective date is 30 April 2025. Crosschain Association processes personal data for service provision, improvement, administration, and legal compliance. Data is retained according to unstated periods and shared with unspecified vendors, partners, and authorities when the operator believes disclosure is necessary. Users have nominal rights to object and withdraw consent, though the policy notes that English prevails over any translation.
Security-wise, Chainflip has faced notable incidents. Following the Bybit hack, Chainflip Labs implemented upgrades to block flows from that exploit and other illicit sources, as announced on X in February 2025. The protocol also encounters persistent phishing risks: fake domains like chainflip-swap[.]com replicate the official interface to steal seed phrases and funds. The official site warns users to verify URLs carefully. ScamAdviser flags chainflip.team as "very likely unsafe" with hidden WHOIS ownership, though this appears to be a separate domain from the main swap and protocol sites.
Payments, fees & limits
Chainflip Swap uses native cryptocurrency deposits only-users send BTC, ETH, SOL, or other supported assets directly to protocol-controlled vault addresses. There is no fiat on-ramp, no SEPA, and no cash option. Pricing operates through a Just-In-Time (JIT) AMM model intended to reduce slippage versus traditional liquidity pools. The official interface advertises "no hidden fees" without specifying exact percentages. Third-party reviews mention "competitive pricing" but no verifiable fee schedule appears in the crawled evidence. Broker fees are referenced in protocol statistics, suggesting integrators may set commissions.
User experience & support
The swap interface is minimalist: select source and destination chains, deposit to the generated address, and receive funds on the target chain. No specialized wallet or wrapped token management is required. The experience targets users familiar with self-custody wallets.
Support channels are limited. The Terms of Service directs questions to [email protected] with no live chat or ticket system evident. Documentation exists at docs.chainflip.io for protocol mechanics. The "Provide Liquidity" and "Explorer" links suggest additional tools for advanced users. Testnet access is available for experimentation.
Who it's for
Chainflip Swap suits users who prioritize native cross-chain settlement over privacy and are comfortable with a regulated, association-operated interface. It appeals to traders moving between Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana ecosystems who want to avoid wrapped assets and bridge risks. It does not suit users seeking no-KYC, anonymous, or non-custodial swapping without legal entity oversight. Privacy-conscious traders requiring KYC-free alternatives should consider true P2P DEXs or privacy-focused protocols with no centralized operator.
KYC & privacy
Full identity verification required.
Chainflip Swap is not privacy-preserving. Crosschain Association operates a centralized interface with mandatory data collection, regulatory compliance obligations, and broad data sharing authority. The April 2025 privacy policy permits automated decision-making and does not specify data retention limits. Post-Bybit hack, the protocol actively screens transactions for illicit flows, indicating surveillance-compatible infrastructure.

Verdict
Chainflip Swap is a functional cross-chain DEX for users who accept KYC and association-operated infrastructure in exchange for native asset convenience. It does not compete with no-KYC alternatives like THORSwap or P2P platforms for privacy-conscious traders. Those prioritizing anonymity should avoid this service.

btc to eth swap worked in about 3 minutes, no wrapped garbage. but the privacy policy is way too invasive for my taste. using it only when i have no other option.

thought this was no-kyc because of youtube shills. it's not. crosschain association has your data and shares it freely. avoid if you actually care about privacy.

decent tech, terrible fit for this directory. the kyc level should be mandatory, not optional. works as advertised but not for anonymous users.

best ux for cross-chain i've used. sol to btc felt like a cex without the custody risk. kyc is the tradeoff and i'm fine with it for small amounts.
