Pros

  • +No-ID bank transfers, email and SMS registration suffices for fiat-to-crypto purchases via SIC/SEPA/SWIFT.
  • +Non-custodial architecture, Bridge Wallet keeps private keys user-controlled, eliminating exchange custody risk.
  • +Generous free tier, first CHF 500 of annual bank-transfer purchases carry zero commission.
  • +Multi-chain bridging, 15 networks supported including Bitcoin, Lightning, Ethereum L2s, and Tezos with 0.5% flat fee.
  • +Swiss regulatory anchoring, Geneva-based operation with fintech licensing provides institutional credibility.

Cons

  • Mandatory card KYC, identification is explicitly required for all card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay purchases.
  • Opaque off-ramp costs, user reports indicate SWIFT and non-CHF/EUR withdrawals may incur substantial effective fees.
  • Indirect identity exposure, IBAN provision and bank transfer metadata create financial surveillance vectors despite no formal KYC.

What is Mt Pelerin

Mt Pelerin is a Swiss fintech founded in 2018 and based in Geneva, positioning itself as a boutique crypto broker rather than a conventional exchange. The platform operates a non-custodial model through its Bridge Wallet mobile app, meaning users retain control of private keys. Core services include buying, selling, swapping, and bridging cryptocurrencies across 15 blockchain networks, plus fiat off-ramping to 18 currencies. The company also offers business integrations, OTC brokerage, lombard loans, and asset tokenization through its Bridge Protocol. As of 2026-05-30, the platform reports 150,000+ users and $1 billion+ in transaction volume.

How no-KYC is it?

The KYC posture is bifurcated and conditional. Bank transfer purchases require only email and SMS authentication-no formal identity verification. However, card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay purchases explicitly mandate identification per the platform's own tutorial documentation. This creates a split experience where the no-KYC pathway is accessible but narrower than the full feature set. Third-party sources including kycnot.me characterize this as "Shotgun KYC" or soft KYC, noting that ancillary data collection (IBAN details, shipping addresses, travel information) can indirectly expose identity even without formal verification. The platform's regulatory framing as a Swiss financial intermediary likely underpins this compliance architecture.

Privacy & security

Privacy protections are partial. The non-custodial wallet structure eliminates centralized honeypot risk, and the platform supports self-custodial receiving addresses for all transactions. However, bank transfers inherently attach fiat identity rails, and the provision of a personal IBAN-marketed as "low key"-still creates financial system traceability. The 2026 changelog notes updated sanctions compliance excluding Russian citizens and residents, indicating active regulatory monitoring. No major breach disclosures appear in the evidence, though one third-party site references FCA warnings and scam reports concerning Bridge Wallet as of January 2026; the veracity and context of these claims remain unverified. The platform maintains a Trustpilot presence with 427 reviews but does not appear to operate a Tor onion service.

Payments, fees & limits

Fee structures vary sharply by payment channel and volume. Bank transfer crypto purchases are free for the first CHF 500 annually, then tiered: 1.3% up to CHF 4,999; 1.1% to CHF 49,999; 0.9% to CHF 999,999; 0.7% to CHF 9,999,999; and 0.6% above. MPS token holders receive fee discounts and expanded free volume up to CHF 50,000 yearly. Card purchases carry undisclosed delivery fees separate from commission rates. Bridging between chains costs 0.5%, with USDC bridging exceptions noted. Minimum purchase is CHF 1; maximum bank transfer purchase is CHF 100,000 without OTC arrangement. Supported fiat currencies include CHF, EUR, GBP, USD, AUD, CAD, and 12 others. Reddit complaints cite unexpectedly high effective costs for GBP off-ramping via SWIFT, with one user reporting ~15% total loss on a withdrawal.

User experience & support

The platform emphasizes accessibility through both web interface and Bridge Wallet mobile app. WalletConnect integration enables DeFi connectivity. Onboarding for no-KYC bank transfer users requires only email and SMS confirmation, with Bitcoin address validation now supported via Ledger/Trezor message signing rather than Satoshi tests. The interface supports 30+ cryptocurrencies across 15 chains including Bitcoin, Lightning, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, zkSync Era, and Tezos. Customer support channels include FAQ, tutorials, and direct contact options. The 2026-02-05 updated tutorial suggests ongoing documentation maintenance. User sentiment on Trustpilot is mixed-to-positive; Reddit communities are active but include specific complaints about fee transparency for non-CHF/EUR corridors.

Who it's for

Mt Pelerin suits privacy-conscious users seeking modest no-KYC entry points via European bank infrastructure, particularly those comfortable with self-custody and SEPA/SIC transfers. The CHF 500 annual free threshold and 0% spread marketing appeal to cost-sensitive buyers. It is less suitable for users requiring guaranteed anonymity, high-volume off-ramping in non-core currencies, or card-based convenience without identification. Compared to fully KYC-free P2P alternatives, the conditional compliance model offers regulatory legitimacy at the cost of feature segmentation. Compared to major exchanges, the non-custodial architecture reduces counterparty risk but narrows advanced trading functionality.

KYC & privacy

L4 Soft KYC

Light identity checks on signup.

No-KYC access is restricted to bank transfer purchases under CHF 100,000, with card payments requiring full identification. Email, SMS, and banking metadata are collected; IBAN functionality creates traceable fiat on/off-ramps. The platform excludes Russian residents as of 2026 sanctions updates, indicating active compliance monitoring that may affect other jurisdictions.

Verdict

Mt Pelerin fits European users prioritizing self-custody who can operate within its bank-transfer-only no-KYC lane. It trails pure P2P alternatives in anonymity but offers more regulatory shelter than unlicensed competitors; card users face standard KYC friction.

No XMR support kills it for me. The bank transfer no-KYC works but you're still leaving a fiat trail with that IBAN.

Clean interface, Lightning works well. The CHF 500 free tier is real. Just don't use cards unless you want to upload ID.

Called itself KYC-free but my bank knows exactly where the money went. Also got hit with unexpected fees cashing out GBP.

Swiss regulated and non-custodial is a rare combo. Bridge Wallet + WalletConnect lets me DeFi without trusting an exchange.
