What is Satoshilancer

Satoshilancer is a services marketplace launched in 2020 that connects employers posting projects with freelancers bidding on remote work, with all payments conducted in Bitcoin. The platform operates on a three-step model: employers post projects and manage hires, freelancers bid and complete work, and both sides rely on an integrated escrow system for payment security. As of 2026-05-30, the site remains online and functional, though evidence of active project flow is sparse.

The marketplace covers standard freelance categories including Blockchain & Cryptocurrency, Programming & Development, IT & Networking, Design & Art, Writing & Translation, and Websites & Social Media. A referral affiliate program exists for non-experts to earn Bitcoin by driving new member signups.

How no-KYC is it?

Satoshilancer permits account creation with only an email address and password meeting complexity requirements (8-30 characters with mixed case and digits). No government ID, phone verification, or proof of address is requested during signup. Users select from four account types at registration-All Access, Only Employer, Only Freelancer, or Only Affiliate-with the ability to change later via Settings.

The Terms of Service require members to provide "true, accurate and complete information," but there is no technical enforcement mechanism visible in the registration flow. This creates a practical no-KYC environment where pseudonymous participation is possible, though the platform reserves broad rights to refuse, suspend, or terminate service. The kycnot.me classification of "Shotgun KYC" appears to reflect this permissive-but-revocable stance rather than active identity collection.

Privacy & security

The platform offers basic operational security through its escrow service, which holds Bitcoin until project milestones are met. However, privacy protections beyond pseudonymous registration are minimal. There is no mention of Tor or .onion access, no end-to-end encryption for communications, and no detail on data retention periods or logging policies in the publicly available terms.

The Private Message System for employer-freelancer communication operates under Terms of Service rules that are not publicly displayed without login. The site lacks transparency reports, security audits, or bug bounty programs. A support email address is provided for security-related inquiries, but no PGP key or alternative contact method is listed.

Payments, fees & limits

All transactions are Bitcoin-only-no Monero, Lightning Network, or fiat options are supported. The fee structure is tiered across Normal and Premium memberships:

  • Escrow fee: 8% for Normal freelancers (employers free); 5% for Premium freelancers (employers free)
  • Withdrawal fee: 5% max 0.0006 BTC for Normal; 3% max 0.0006 BTC for Premium
  • Withdrawal delay: 3 business days Normal; 24 hours Premium
  • Deposit fee: 0% for both tiers
  • Premium cost: 0.0002 BTC monthly

Employers on Normal plans face a 10-project posting limit, while Premium offers unlimited projects plus private project posting and invitation capabilities. Freelancers on Normal are capped at 25 bids (5 on premium projects), with Premium providing unlimited bids and priority display. Fees are explicitly subject to change without notice "due to bitcoin fluctuation."

User experience & support

The interface is functional but dated, with basic navigation for posting, browsing, and member profiles. The members directory shows multiple pages of registered users, though nearly all visible profiles display "Not rated yet," suggesting minimal completed transaction history. A BitcoinTalk thread from 2020-2021 contains limited engagement with roughly 1,100 reads and sparse replies.

Support channels include a contact form with case categorization (General, Security Related, Account, Payments, Bug Reports, Other) and a protected email address. No live chat, phone support, or community forum is evident. The FAQ covers basic operational questions but lacks depth on dispute resolution timelines or escrow arbitration procedures.

Who it's for

Satoshilancer suits privacy-focused individuals seeking Bitcoin-denominated micro-contracting without identity verification, particularly those comfortable with Bitcoin's on-chain transparency and willing to accept platform custody during escrow. It may appeal to employers in cryptocurrency-adjacent fields seeking lower-cost international labor. However, the thin user base and lack of established reputation systems make it higher-risk than mainstream alternatives. Those requiring frequent withdrawals or Monero privacy will find the fee structure and single-asset design limiting.

KYC & privacy

L4 Soft KYC

Light identity checks on signup.

Satoshilancer collects minimal data at registration-only email and self-declared account type-with no mandatory identity verification. However, the Terms of Service reserve broad rights to terminate accounts and require truthful information without specifying enforcement mechanisms. No logging policy, data retention details, or encryption standards are publicly disclosed as of 2026-05-30.

Verdict

Satoshilancer delivers genuinely no-KYC Bitcoin freelancing with functional escrow, but its stagnant user base and dated interface make it a niche option for patient privacy seekers rather than active professionals. Compared to established platforms, expect longer hiring cycles and thinner talent pools.

no kyc is nice but bitcoin only is a pain. fees eat into small jobs and the site feels abandoned. escrow worked for me once but took days.
